Welding

Selection of non-ferrous metals for welding.

Welding is a manufacturing process used to join two or more pieces of material, usually metals, by the application of heat, pressure, or a combination of both. The goal is for the material of the parts to melt and mix at the joint, forming a strong, permanent connection once it cools. Welding is essential in many industries, including construction, vehicle manufacturing, shipbuilding, and in the creation of infrastructure and heavy equipment. It is also used in the repair and maintenance of metal products and structures.

At Bronmetal we have sheet, strip and plate, thin, metallic material shapes – which allow faster welding speeds than thicker materials – that have specific implications for the welding process that affect both the technique and the end result of the process. Due to their shape and characteristics, sheets, strips and plates are often used in applications requiring flat surfaces or rolled structures, such as in vehicle bodies or equipment construction.
